New Life Berwyn

by George Sosa 31. March 2009 10:04
It's exciting to see what God is doing in Berwyn.  It's even more exciting to think that He has a divine plan for that community.  We are in the midst of those plans that will spiritually and in every aspect effect that area.  It's been such a blessing to see people from the community coming out to be a part of our church.  We are praying that God will bring key people to help bring about to existence that which the Sovereign God we serve has in mind.  It has also been such a great feeling to sense the hunger in people for the things of God, and we pray that we can be that vessel that allows the Holy Spirit to meet that need.  So please join us in prayer and come in agreement with us so that God will bring those people that we need to fill the gap.

Berwyn has been launched!

by Mark Jobe 22. March 2009 19:45

Congratulations Pastor George, Margie and New Life Berwyn. My wife Dee and children were at the Grand Opening representing the Jobe family this past Sunday March 22nd. I received a phone message from my wife at 12:15 saying that the auditorium, including the balcony, was filled with people. Everyone who I have talked to was gushing with excitement about this first service. I am told that over 365 people packed into the church to celebrate this first Sunday. The worship was powerful, the message was inspiring, people made decisions to follow Christ and the fellowship and food afterwards was great.

Berwyn is off to an amazing start. All of New Life is celebrating with you and cheering for your success.

Blessings

Pastor Mark

The Idiocy of Idioms

by Melissa Ayala 18. March 2009 01:53

Recently I was talking to a friend who has been serving the Lord for over five years.  While talking to him I learned that he is having trouble making it to church on Sunday mornings, because he works on Sunday afternoons.  He said he needed to rest before work.  Then he said, “Besides, you know how I am if I don’t get my sleep.”

One hears idioms all the time such as; “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks”, “I woke up on the wrong side of the bed”, “It was a slip of the tongue”, or “I’m giving them a taste of their own medicine”.  The problem occurs when it’s Christians using these sayings.

Don’t we know that these idioms no longer apply to us? Don’t we know that we are all new creatures in Christ?

“Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things are passed away; behold new things have come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Why do so many of us allow the enemy to affect how we view ourselves? Why do we allow these lies to perpetuate within ourselves?  Don’t we know that God is working within us to make us whole, and pure? I understand why people who don’t serve God use these expressions, but I believe it grieves the Spirit to hear us, children of the most High, say these things aloud to excuse our behaviors.

My friends, there is no longer a need to use these idiotic idioms as a banner for your life, and to excuse how you act.  Instead use God’s mercy, and His grace to change you into the person He wants you to be.

If you have reached a point in your relationship with God where you feel that these silly phrases describe you better than how God sees you, or if you don’t know God at all than I invite you to New Life Berwyn to see yourself as God see you.

“…put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its creator” Colossians 3:10

New Life Berwyn Opening...

by Eric Dykstra 18. March 2009 01:34
I am excited and amazed to see God's hand leading us day by day closer to the opening of New Life Berwyn!  God's work will be done! Some times God's hand goes before us to open up doors or to knock down walls.  Other times His hand follows us as an encouraging, gentle push.  Yet, there are those times when we need a good, firm smack in the back of the head to straighten us out!  The comfort of each of these examples, though, is that God's hand, His presence, moves among his people.  Let's rejoice that God is the Living God and His will is going to be done.  I am excited that our Allpowerful God allows me to be a part of his kingdom through the opening up of this new Berwyn location.  What a priveledge it is to serve a mighty God!

New Life Berwyn

by Mark Jobe 18. March 2009 01:11

On Monday I was at the church in Berwyn praying with some other men for the Grand Opening on March 22nd. There was such a sense of expectant faith. I came out of that prayer time really excited about what God is going to do through this church. As we prayed it struck me that God has been preparing the way for New Life to minister to Berwyn for many years. For years we have had families from that community attend our church. We have had Bible studies in the area and many friends from the community. Literally thousands of people have been praying for this amazing opportunity.

I talked with Pastor George Sosa today and he is excited and ready to open the doors to the people of Berwyn and surrounding areas. To all of you at New Life Berwyn I want to say we are cheering for you and waiting to hear a good report.

Blessings.

Mark Jobe
