Together. Such a great word. "We're in this together."
"You and I are better together." "Let's put our head's together
on this." "Together each achieves more." (Okay, the last one
was a cheesy acronym for team...)
The word and
the idea of together sounds good but its not easy, right? Being
together is work. It doesn't just "happen".
In
fact, being together is so much work that a large percentage of the New
Testament is devoted to picturing and instructing on what together
should look like. The essence of the hope of the people of God is about
together: to spend eternity together with God and with His people.
I'm
convinced that being together requires grace from us and also gives
grace to us.
I'm looking forward to a
summer of coming together to learn what together can really be and then
going out and being the people of God. Together.
