Mongolia

Airports have a certain feel. Goodbyes are generally balanced by happy reunions, and the excitement of going new places colors everything. We like airports.

Prayer time can be like that. If we come to Him with everything (tragedy or triumph, anxiety or joy, pain or pleasure) those emotions tend to balance, and the excitement of His Kingdom colors everything. If, on the other hand, we come to God only when we're in trouble, we might associate that heavy feeling of facing trouble with spending time with the Lord. But if we jump in with Him, with His priorities central, He takes us on an exciting journey. He is loving and redeeming and transforming. We get to be in on it.

We are about to return to Mongolia. Our team has done a great job laying a foundation for the work to come in 2011. We are leaving our Vicky in the US and know that she will keep thriving at University. Justin, Wesley, Evan, and Derek are going back to Mongolia without their sister and into a very different situation. God is about to do new things in new parts of Mongolia. We get to be in on it.  It's thrilling and peaceful all at once, a little sad, a little scary, very exciting. It feels like an airport.

As we face our latest round of sad goodbyes, we ask you to pray with our family and our team. We still need a place to live so please pray for that, and please join us in praying that we'll all settle in well and bear a lot of lasting fruit. Thanks. Please share with us your prayer concerns as well. We hope that your prayer closet feels like an airport – maybe some sadness as we wrestle with grievous issues, balanced by some happiness and wonder, but mostly excitement over going new places in the Spirit, for Jesus' sake.

May your Christmas celebration be dominated by praise and gratitude to the One Who sent Jesus. May you seize every opportunity in the coming year to pray what He wants prayed, speak what He wants spoken, and be in on the things He is doing.

Love,
Bill & Donna Mills
