2nd Week Serve

As the New Year has begun we’ve been thinking about what it would look like to monthly serve as a church together.  This year is bringing exciting things as we’re having an all church event in May that is going to invite all 4,000 New Lifers into an opportunity to tangibly serve in their communities on a coordinated day.  I’m extremely excited about it and can’t wait to see what can happen when thousands of people serve others together.  Here at Lincoln Park we want to be a church that is involved in the community.  In order to do this we want to be serving consistently on a monthly basis.  We want to be a community of faith that overflows into the lives of others by tangibly meeting a need that they may have. 

Starting in February we’ve started a consistent serving opportunity to go out into the community around us and serve.  Every second week of the month we’ll have a different opportunity to serve together as a church in our community and the areas around it.   In February we’ll be partnering with the Lakeview Food Pantry and helping to pack and deliver food to many of the people here in the community that can’t make it to the shelter to pick the food up.  If you’re interested in joining in and want to stay informed on current serving opportunities and when we’re heading out you can sign up to be contacted with a monthly serving opportunity at 2ndweek@newlifechicago.org.  We’ll provide the location to serve at and you’ll just need to be ready to jump in to tangible help another.
