Be Encouraged

Hello Everybody :  this is Pastor Tony from New Life Cicero.

Just want to share an encouraging word with you.

As our 25 days of fasting come to an end, I just want to share a portion of scripture with you.

16 This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,
17 who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:16-19

In Verse 18 He says forget about the past and get yourself ready for what is about to happen.

Let us forget what brought you to this point and concentrate on what God has in store for you. God does have a plan for you. It may be hard to realize that right now. You may be hurt, angry, or discouraged. You might be so overwhelmed that you can hardly get through the day. But you will get through the day.

Sometimes when God is up to doing something new in my life, I often have trouble perceiving it. Things block my vision...usually the former things—past issues, lingering hurts, previous failures.

God knows us well. I think that must be why he specifically told us not to dwell on the past.

Philippians 3:13 Paul says

13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

In Isaiah 43:19, God is telling us to get ready for something big, He is going to bring life to areas and places where there was no life.  He said, “I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

If there are areas in your life that were barren, get ready for life to spring up.

If you have had a dry season last year, get ready for an abundance of life to spring forth.

Sure you’ve come through some hard times.

Sure you may have faced some storms.

You may have lost a few good seasons of blessings.

You may have missed God in times past.

But that was then, this is now!

Get ready for what God is about to do.

May the Lord richly bless you with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus.
